With a 4.5 percent year-over-year job growth rate from this time last year, Houston is predicted to be the fastest growing city in the nation according to Forbes. Since 2005, Houston has added 667,800 jobs and median annual income for college-educated workers has risen to $71,900. Although the oil boom is cited as a big role in this growth, exports have made a significant impact, growing 74.5 percent in the past five years. Furthermore, half the cities in the top ten were from Texas including Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Fort Worth.
